General Guidelines for Requests All requests, whether for new images or for fills/reposts of incomplete/corrupt files belong in the .d discussion groups. The only exception to this is for alt.binaries.squaresoft who have no .d group. All requests should follow some basic rules.
Always wait 24 hours after a post to requests a repost of certain files. Some news servers can get a little slow on recieving parts of a header and it can take up to 24 hours to recieve all parts and alleviate the unessecary reposting of a file.
Requests for full reposts of games should be no sooner than 3 - 5 days after the original post.
Requests should look like the following examples:
"Req DC: Full Repost of Street Fighter Alpha 3"
"Req DC: Parts - Street Fighter Alpha 3 - 3,9,17"
If you constantly find you have incomplete posts or not enough time to download a post before your server clears it off, do yourself a favor and find a new news provider. You will thank yourself in the long run.
You should also only request once per day and refrain from using ALL CAPS, begging or "selling my soul", "Giving my sister", etc. Multiple requests by the same person tend to be ignored as do people who fall under the other offences. |
