What the FAQ covers This FAQ covers the essentials of using the Dreamcast related newsgroups. It shows you how to grab image parts, put them together, write them to disk and how to post should you feel generous. It also discusses the proper format of posting, requesting and general discussions/troubleshooting.
What is the group for? The Dreamcast image groups were created for both the purpose of backing up Dreamcast games that its subscribers have purchased as well as allowing its subscribers to try out games before purchasing them. Of course should you be trying out a game and you find you will continue to use it, you should purchase the software and thereby support the software industry to encourage more new products as well as recieving manuals, support, etc.
What is this .d group? alt.binaries.cd.image.dreamcast.d and alt.binaries.cd.images.dreamcast.d is where all discussions reguarding posts, reposts, fills, etc. should go to keep the primary groups as close to pure binaries as possible.
Note if your server does not carry the .d group you should contact your news admin to get it added. |
